Rozporządzenie RODO obowiązuje bez vacatio legis, czyli bezpośrednio od momentu ogłoszenia powinno być stosowane. Transmisje sesji również podlegają pod ww. przepisy. Z oczywistych względów nie było możliwości ich natychmiastowego wdrożenia lecz minęło już dużo czasu. W związku z tym Prezes UODO zaczyna sprawdzać czy instytucje stosują RODO.
Transmisja sesji podlega bezpośrednio pod RODO. Administrator danych czyli Wójt/Burmistrz/Prezydent wypełniając obowiązek ustawowy w zakresie transmitowania, archiwizacji i udostępniania sesji powinien spełnić wszystkie zapisy obowiązujące go w zakresie ochrony przetwarzanych danych osobowych.

13 listopada na stronach Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych został opublikowany opis warunków oraz sposób planowania transmisji sesji.
